COVID - 19 Advice for Allotment Holders
At the moment the Government have confirmed that it is ok for you to continue working your allotment during this time provided you follow the social distancing rules.

As per the sign on the entrance to the allotment site please leave the gate open during this time to ensure that the virus is not passed between you from the gate.

Government Ministers have suggested that an hour's walk is reasonable and asked us all to limit time spent outside the home. The Society believes that if you are using your plot for daily exercise it would be reasonable to spend an hour or two doing the jobs that need doing for that day and then to return home.

Wash hands when you get home

DO NOT gather together for a chat even if you are 2 metres apart

Observe "Social Distancing" with each other 2-3 metres

If you take your children to the plot, ensure that they stay within its confines and do not run around on communal paths and spaces.

Do not share tools

Do not wash your hands in water troughs

If you are self - isolating, or shielding and unable to work your allotment, please let us know. We do not expect you to be able to work your allotment if you are in this situation.

Please consider when you go to the allotment site, afternoons seem to be more popular at the moment so maybe consider other times of the day to avoid busy periods.

Allotment Car Park
We are pleased to confirm that the extension and improvement of the allotment car park and installation of new noticeboard has now been completed. This will provide a much needed space for those visiting their allotment.

These improvements have been funded from an increase in allotment fees over the last couple of years, with the income being re-invested into improving the site for users.

At the moment government guidance states that allotment holders can continue to work their allotments as their one exercise a day, provided they follow social distancing rules and there currently no bonfires allowed.

Allotment plots are very popular and we currently have a small waiting list. If you wish to be added to the waiting list please contact the Parish Clerk confirming your contact details.

Thames Water Sewage site
We have received confirmation from Thames Water that they are currently having issues which means there will be regular tanker movements to and from this site. Please bear with them on this, at the moment they are unsure how long this will last for. Again please remember to keep your distance at all times.

One of the allotment holders has set up a facebook group for Wanborough allotment holders. If you are on facebook and would like to join then please search on "Wanborough Allotment Folk" answer some of the questions to confirm you have an allotment which will then allow you to join. This should allow allotment holders to discuss any allotment matters with each other in a safe manner.

Lastly please e-mail me if you have any concerns, take care and stay safe.
